When extreme weather hits, workers feel it first, yet they’re often missing from resilience strategies. Sustainability leaders are in a unique position to change that. That's why Extreme Weather + Work is pleased to introduce The Sustainability Leader’s Guide to Extreme Weather Readiness, a new resource hub designed specifically for sustainability leaders and teams.
It includes research to help make the business case for action, along with guides tailored to sustainability focus areas. Here’s what’s inside:
Each guide includes actions teams can start today, strategies to build on, and leading-edge approaches for organizations ready to go further.
Extreme Weather + Work developed the hub in consultation with experts from the National Commission on Climate and Workforce Health and leaders from our member companies, then validated it in person at roundtables during Climate Week NYC and at Trellis Impact. At Trellis, we hosted a workshop, and Google — whose support made these resources possible — spoke on the main stage about bringing worker health into sustainability teams’ work.
The sustainability hub joins Extreme Weather + Work’s existing resource hubs:
Resource hubs for other job functions are in development.
Extreme Weather + Work is an initiative of the Health Action Alliance. We bring together leaders who rarely sit in the same room and connect them with peers across industries, giving them the research and tools they need to support their people before, during, and after extreme weather. Our work is advised by the National Commission on Climate and Workforce Health, a board of experts spanning business, health, climate, and policy.
